"Let me get this straight, " my wife grumbled over a decade ago. "You're going to drive down to Providence and stay in a hotel with a bunch of guys you met on the internet?"

Hearing the words out loud made me question my decision, but I'm Thankful I went through with it. We're all different ages, from different backgrounds, living in different states, but since that first trip, we've played in every timezone - checking numerous bucket list items together.

I'm Thankful that my "Internet Friends" have turned into real Friends. We've all been through so much together, that these guys feel like family to me. Whether we're strolling Kiawah on a picture perfect day or a beat up muni in a monsoon, we're going to have a blast.

I'm also Thankful to Titleist, not only for making the gear that allows me to play better than I actually am, but to hosting this Forum. I'm sure it requires more resources than we realize, but to some of us, logging onto TT feels like a homecoming.

Happy Thanksgiving TT - Thanks for being you.

Here's hoping everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. As I settled in to watch the Chicago Bears/Detroit Lions game, I was flipping channels during a break and started watching the skins game from Japan. Did anyone else watch that? The format was really cool. Playing one hole with 4 Rugby champions, one each paired with Matsuyama, Jason Day, Tiger and Rory.Playing another hole with only one club of choice, and finally playing a hole with 2 greens, allowing the player to hit to either one.Really interesting format. I don't know who came up with it, but I thought it was very entertaining. Thoughts?

  4. Thankful for the afternoon rounds I’m able to take my son out for a few holes and teach him the game I love so much. Some of my best memories with my father were on the golf course as well.

I want to thank the men who invented the game, to the professionals who came before the 80's who really popularized the game on TV so I could dream of playing like them.
I would also like to thank the manufacturers like Titleist who first perfected the ball and then the clubs so I and every other amateur can play great golf. I won't forget to thank the courses for making it possible for us to go play our best.
For all of these I want to say Thank you.

Thankful for the peace and quiet that the golf course provides in the evening, the friends that I have developed thru the game of golf, the dedication of all the green superintendents that provide such wonderful places to enjoy with friends and family. One can not forget the joy you get from hitting that one perfect shot. Thankful that Titleist makes such great clubs that allowed me to that one perfect shot.

To all of the American Team Titleist members Happy Thanksgiving weekend.

I'd like to thank my late father, who introduced me to the game at 10, my brother who brought me back in my 50's, and all the friends who put up with me over the years, despite my lousy play. In return, I try to encourage my children, nieces and nephews to take up the game. And go out of my way to meet new friends for a fun round.
As one of those new friends quoted me, golf helps keep you young. My uncle shot his age at 96, I hope to do the same.
  8. Everyone here has touched on many things that the game means to me but still it's hard to describe! A quiet walk, a beautiful day, nature all around, and exercise as well. But what will live on forever, and we have all done it, is the way we all will swear off the game forever during a really bad round and then be looking for our next tee time before we close the car door to leave the parking lot!
  9. I'm thankful to a game I'm not that good at,,,shoot in the 80's,,,but anytime I can get with my buddies or family talk trash and have fun,,,I'll take that any day.
