  1. Help! Trying to decide what degree bounce to get for my new SM8 56 and 60 degree wedges. My swing is shallow and usually pick the ball clean on full swings and chip shots around the green. I currently use my 56 for almost every shot 60 yards in. Open to change that. I am not confidant in the bunker. My misses on my chip shots around the green is fat. Since I tend to pick the ball clean I was leaning towards the 8 degree M grind for the 56 and the 12 or 14 degree for the 60. Would think I would use the 60 in the bunkers and Thick rough around the green, and 56 on tighter lies around the green. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

  2. Personal preference goes a long way, i tend to take shallow divots and have always preferred high bounce on the 56 and low bounce on the 60. I use the 56 for bunker shots and probably 75% of shots inside 50 yards. I will use the 60 in bunkers only if the sand is hard like clay. I have played the 56.14F and the 60.04L if you like the 56 for a variety of shots try the 56.12D and go 60.08M. If you want the 60 gor bunker shots either go 60.14K or 60.12D and then go 56.08M - i like having extreme bounce differences on my short game shots - some prefer the same bounce and use loft as their deciding factor.

Hello Agranza. Whatever loft wedge you choose to use in the bunker, go with .12 or.14 bounce, and because you're a "picker" use the .o8 everywhere else. As you eluded to, the extra bounce will help you in the bunker, particularly f you come in shallow. To me, .14 bounce is a bit much, but I'm a digger not a picker. My wedges are only .02 apart; 54.10S and 58.08M. I use both wedges in bunkers, both wedges on pitch and runs, and shots around the green.
The two distinct differences are; I can open the face of the 58.08 a little easier and I like it off really tight lies, and the 54.10S sets up square so it's great for full and 3/4 shots from 100 yards in.
