  1. With a limited budget, which one would you invest in first? Driver, woods, irons, wedges or putters?

Assuming you've had lessons with them all.

And why did you choose that?

I've been using ShotScope to track shots gained to give me an idea, but wanted tour opinion.

Only due to my swing changes at the moment and still recovering from a shoulder injury i went for a fitting day and decided to on a new putter, just as it’s something i thought is slightly harder to find a fitter for where as most places that do fittings only mainly do driver and irons.

Also felt like I could get away for another season with my current irons and driver so thought I would give myself the these to fully recover and get fitted again next year

    I'd suggest a driver and a wedge (or 2).
Driver technology in my view has advanced the most, and driving the ball well, at any level, is so important or setting the tone for your round. I think having at least one wedge you're happy with is also essential, we hit so many shots from inside 100 yards, if you are budget constrained you can also pick up a used wedge for a reasonable price.

I suppose it depends a bit on what you've currently got in the bag. But I always think irons first, to me they're your scoring clubs, then putter because you normally use that more than any other clubs in the bag. Then driver, the change in technology if you've got an old one is amazing, then wedges and finally woods.

    That’s definitely a hard one.
What part of the game would you say needs it more??

For me it was driving getting off the tee, I was always great off the tee years ago, but after a few injuries I lost my swing and was struggling to find the short stuff, topping the ball or reloading which cost my game big time.
GT fitting at titleist Craigielaw got me back in the game, now I have the confidence to stand in the tee and find the short stuff [ most of the time lol ] ️‍♂️

    Hi there,

    Really good question!

I think when I was starting out I didn’t have a range to use at first due to location, but at one of my courses it had this practice green with around a 100 yard marker.

So my I decide to get some wedges and a putter, nothing special but something to get me going and working on the short game.

Wasn’t until I was really getting into it I then done some research and brought my first Vokey and a odyssey putter at the time it was within my budget so that’s how I choose my first products really and worked my way up the bag.

I know play a Scotty Cameron putter (X9) but will be changing soon to a Catalina super select which I can’t wait to get my hands on.

I think if your dialled in enough to the process and the game in general you will work out what you really need first to improve and build from there.
