  1. Hi all.

I’m currently gaming the 712u 2 iron and I’m contemplating on replacing this with a 2 hybrid for a little more forgiveness and usability.

What are people’s thoughts? Do people find the 2 hybrid easier to shape etc but lose the penetrating ball flight?

I currently love the 2iron but looking for something that I can’t take off a few different lies on fairways and attack greens from further back

    Evening.

It’s a very divided one this, I was using a TS2 3 HYBRID but the problem I was having was it was way to spinny for me.

Even if I chocked down on the grip I still found it get to much spin.

So I decided to get fit properly for a replacement. In my mind I was sure of a 5 wood but again I was wrong.

I got fitted for the new 505 3 driving iron and boy it’s a massive improvement on my game. It’s a rocket of the tee and fairway and gives me everything I needed in a long iron.

I guess for you depending on your course and what you like the look off to the eye will depend what’s best for you.

Not sure if you can get to a Titleist fitting centre but I would definitely get some expect advise on what will be best for you.

Good luck in your search and keeps us posted

I had the same concerns and went for a Tsi 3 hybrid 18 degrees, I can hit it high and hit it low, fade it and draw it. Hit it off the tee, off the fairway and out the rough. Would never go back to a long iron now.

I think your right there, just what you feel comfortable hitting and what looks good on the eye. each club suits each player differently.

I go through this dilemma several times a year, try to convince myself a driving iron is a good idea in the summer but in reality i think hybrid suits me more. I'm usually handy with a driving iron off the tee but unless i get a perfect lie on fairway / semi, I really can't hit it consistently. Whereas with a hybrid, even questionable contact tends to get the ball airborne and going in the general direction from all sorts of lies.

Having said all of that, there is something satisfying about drilling a long / driving iron that, but me and my ego just need to get over it!
