Had a fitting yesterday at Sand Martin's Golf Club with Chris Courtneidge from Titleist for a set of irons. I've met Chris before and have to say he's the consummate professional. He always asks what you want from both the fitting and your irons rather than what he wants!

Currently playing 716MB's and although I love them realise that I'm getting a bit older and not practicing as much so a bit of forgiveness wouldn't go a miss. I'm using KBS tour stiff shafts as well and thought a lighter shaft might help as well but we found they were spinning too much; so much to my surprise after trying quite a few options stuck with the original shafts and have gone with a set of CB's 4-PW.

I did consider a mixed set of CB/MB's but the CB's went so well, 8-10 yard gain and better ball flight so have gone for the full set. Let's just hope I don't have to wait too long for them now (will have a set of 716MB's for sale if anyone wants them).

So if you're based in the South and end up being lucky enough to be fitted by Chris, you'll have a great experience, he's very knowledgeable and makes it fun as well.

    Martin,

Great that you've recommended Chris … I've found all the fitters I've met in the south to be very helpful. I think the key is listening to their questions and honest answers.

Did you not want to wait for the release of this years irons?

Ant - I thought about it but 'needed' to make the change now!
  4. Just come back from a Titleist Thursday fitting at London Golf Club. Chris again was fantastic, we had a previous fitting for irons an i got the AP3's. this time was a fairway wood and driver. As mentioned Chris really is a great fitter, asking what do you want out of the club. Even when we were hitting good shots, Chris was striving to get better performance. Anyway, settled with TS3 Fairway, 16.5, B2 setting with Hazardous Smoke shaft with additional weight in the head.
