Taking a trip to San Diego and playing Torrey while I’m there. Any tips to make the most of the trip? Places to eat, things to do at facilities, etc!

    Thanks!

I did that the first week of July! Stop by Scotty Cameron gallery in Encinitas, there is a great course there called Encinitas Ranch, and then there is a great little muni on Coronado as well...

Beautiful weather, great golf, and memories to last a long time!

It might help to know if you are staying in the La Jolla area, closer to downtown, or North County. Tons of stuff to do and places to go. How many days are you staying? Will you have a rent car and can easily get around? Once we know that, we can better suggest places for you.

Old Town for tacos and margaritas... Coasterra and C-Level for great views of bay, downtown and aircraft carriers..
AleSmith, Stone and Ballast Point best breweries with food/food trucks.

I love sunsets at the bar lounge next to the Torrey pro shop. Old town SD for Mexican-American food. Gaslight area is “trendy”. I also like the Dogleg Brewery in the upcountry area for the ambience. The owners are both dog lovers and golfers. I think they now have catered food on Thursday’s. Check website for accuracy. The name is appropriate. The Everyman course is Goathill in Oceanside. There are many other courses at all levels. Since I usually go during my off season, I add the Coronado city course for an easy practice round. You can also eat dinner or just do drinks at the Hotel Coronado resort for the sunsets there.

If going as a single, you can get on by showing up at registration booth by 8am. I don’t bother paying the fee to schedule ahead of time. The South course is generally faster to get on, as the local residents prefer the North course.
