Headed back in December. Love how unique this resort is. It got me thinking, what are things you might do at Bandon that you might not do at your home course?

Putt from 20 feet off the green Rarely need to use a divot tool Hit irons short that bounce up on the green Ring the Bell See deer while you play Go from sunshine to rain to sunshine to rain during the same round of golf Experience a fog delay See the Ocean Experience golf in the wind Hang out with your buddies for multiple days

What am I missing? What would you add to the list?

fog???? Don't they call it a "marine layer"? regardless of what you call it, it can roll in very quickly

I would add "eat hazelnut and marionberry pancakes" but the took them off the menu when they simplified the menus for COVID and haven't added them back. So sad. They were great. Also, "short hike to find the labyrinth".

Sitting in my room here at Bandon now, went for a walk on the beach off of Whiskey run last night with my wife to try and catch the sunset, a little cloudy so will try again this evening

Sure can't do that in Colorado. And, you get bonus points for working the Forum threads while on your trip to paradise! A diehard TT member for sure. Have fun out there.
  6. Making our 8th trek up there in Jan. Golf heaven. Make sure you take a walk to the Labyrinth. Great place to relax and gather your thoughts.

Also don't skip out on going to downtown Bandon. They have a great little coffeehouse and a new Argentine restaurant if you want a great meal.

My 10th year in a row so yep, I have covered all the property and we usually do an afternoon/evening in town. I personally like Edgewater's and Lord Bennett's for dinner and always drop in to Cranberry Sweets for some take-home goodies.

1dayPGA, Ops. Just realized you were responding to James, not me. Sorry about that. Just read your post under mine and thought you were talking to me. anyway, great info and glad to hear you share the same passion for this place as I do. We'll have to check out the Argentine place.

Played Bandon Trails for a second time on my last trip (December of this year) and would recommend it to play as a second choice to Pacific Dunes or Bandon Dunes.

Eating at Pacific Dunes for breakfast is a good option if you do not want to eat their breakfast buffet.

Had no idea Bandon was year-round, the more you know. Looked a bit wet there in your photos, Dale - hope you guys are enjoying.

Wet the first two days but much better on the last three. You can get rain anytime of the year so we were prepared. It was great, as always.

Play 58 holes in one day: two 18 hole rounds on any of the 5 championship courses, one 13 hole round on The Preserve and one 9 hole round at Shorty's by the range. After all that you might throw in a session at the massage center or a proper soaking in the whirlpool before heading over to the Bunker Bar.

Start playing 36 holes a day and also work on the putting. The greens are big and undulated.

36 a day is a must unless youre doing 18 and the Preserve. Bring swim trunks, the Bunker room has a jacuzzi! Check your rain gear!

The last night we like to sit around a fire pit for a great B.S. session.
Cigars, good scotch and a lot of laughs and stories.
