I have a set of AP1s with the factory graphite shafts and I am planning on putting Project X steel shafts in them. I have read that iron heads produced for graphite shafts are heavier than those produced for steel shafts in order to get swingweighting correct. Is this the case with the AP1s? Also, will they be too heavy if I do go forward with the graphite to steel reshafting?

I thought the heads were the same weight and the graphite shafts were longer to make up for the difference.

dk, before you go with project x shafts, look into a shaft thats lighter in gram weight somewere around 90 grams, and if you still need to, find a light weight grip. if someone tells you you can't do this look ask a good club maker in your area. (pga pro). look into they light weight shafts titleist offers in their custom options.

If you reshaft with Project X steel 5.5, from standard steel, you would have added about 2.5 swingweights.  With standard grips, it would come out to D3.5 (+/-1) .  Our graphite shafts are low balanced so the difference in swingweight may not be as drastic as you might think.  If you have us do the reshaft, we will make every attempt to reshaft it to a playable swingweight for you.
