It was announced, this week, that Fortune Brands is considering 'spinning off' the Achusnet (Titleist/FootJoy) business.  Certainly, in any business environment, changes are part of day to day operations.  Another thread recently gave a fantastic glimpse of the history of Titleist/Achusnet.  This is an age-old company with a legacy of being one of the leaders in the industry.  We all would expect that to continue, even though there may be some changes in corporate ownership.

We who have been dyed-in-the-wool Titleist fans for more years than we want to admit we've participated in this sometimes frustrating game, would like to have updates as to any changes that might affect the company.  We want to be able to remain members of "Team Titleist" and continue carrying the banner for a one great name!  Please allow us some "snapshots" of information as it evolves.

Thank you, Titleist, for being there for us!!!!

My thoughts are with all my friends and staff members of Acushnet Golf. I'm sure this decision will make the shareholders happy with their investment, and I hope it ends up the same way for the entire staff. I'm sure these are nervous times for you, and I hope you realize how many friends you have thinking of, and supporting you.

Hopefully 2011 will be a wonderful year for you all!

Well said Kevin.  We're all concerned about the dedicated men and women under the Acushnet umbrella.

Be assured that it is business as usual at Titleist and you will not see any changes in process, product quality or performance.  We will be sure to keep you up to date if and when anything happens regarding a future sale or spin off of Acushnet Company.

In the meantime, you can continue to in play and purchase Titleist equipment with complete confidence.

As always, thank you for your support.

I'm kinda stupid on the subject, would the sale of Acushnet Company mean the stock will go up, down, or stay the same?

I don't really get "owner of a publicly traded company"

  6. According to Fortune Brands website, unfortunately, for us, they can't discuss anything beyond what we already know.

I , too, would love to be updated along the way. As soon as they're able to talk about it more, I'm sure that we'll be some of the first to know about it.

Best wishes to Acushnet, Titleist and every body else involved.
