I have been using a 14 way bag for most my golf career, looking to jump in to a Titleist stand bag that features a 4 way divider. How do you organize your clubs, and keep them orderly with only 4 slots? I've always been a big fan of the 14 ways ability to keep everything in its place but it seems that the better bags opt for the 4 way divider.

I’d look for a 14 way stand bag personally, if that’s what your most comfortable with, I used to have a titleist one a few year bag , before upgrading to the sta dry cart 14 way

    I never liked 14 way stand bags. I just bought a Titleist stand bag with a 4 way divider. Here's how I have it set up;
    Top- Driver;3-wood;4-wood;putter
    Bottom: 9,PW,SW,LW
    Middle right; 4;5;Hybrid
    Middle left:6-7-8

maybe consider investing in a quality pull cart so you can switch from walking to riding without sacrificing on organization. I also play out of a 14 way Sta Dry cart bag photo attached

Me, I prefer the midsize tour bag. Have had the 14 way cart bags and they are great bags but since I upgraded to the tour bags, will not go back. Just a personal choice.

I have been looking at the midsize tour bag and the tour stand bag. Tough choice but I don't think my playing ability warrants the midsize tour bag.

I made the same move this season. Here is how I organized:

    Top- Driver; 3-wood; Hybrid
    Bottom: Wedges (PW,GW,SW,LW)
    Middle right; 4-5 irons; Putter
    Middle left:6-7-8-9 Irons

    Seems to work pretty well.

I play the 14 divide cart bag as I didn't like my clubs bunched together when selecting one. I use the tube inserts too to keep the grips away from one another.

When I had a 6 divider type I had my clubs setup this way.

    Left back - Driver, 3W
    Right Back - Both Hybrids
    Middle Left - 5,6,7
    Middle Right - 8,9,PW
    Left front - AW, GW
    Right Front - SW, Putter

I never understood the bugaboo about bag selection and playing ability. You should get whatever bag you like and the heck with what anybody thinks. Golf is happiness to me and I'm going to get whatever makes me happy. Furthermore, just about everyone at our club has their name embroidered on their bag. Makes no difference here if your hdcp. is a 5 or a 25, or a man or a woman. Fun should be the name of the game.

Agree, totally. Playing ability has nothing to do with the type of bag you game. Get what you want. I always carried a good quality bag from day one. My first bag in 1995 was a Burton bag, made in the USA. Believe they made bags for Titleist at one time. I looked like I belonged on the course, nice clubs, nice bag, nice shoes and apparel. Appropriate golf wear. It's called respect for the game........no tee shirts, denim nor tennis shoes......
  13. This may look a mess to the untrained eye but if you look closely you will notice all the wedges including the PW are at the bottom, 7,8,9 right side, 6,5 on opposite side and the woods and putter in the top.

I agree with Mike and Mr. Smith. NEVER liked the 14 way club divider. The clubs bang against each other too much and don't get to settle in with each other. Like Chuck, my go to is a mid Staff bag. In the 6 way divider, I have driver/hybrid or driving iron in the top left, 3wd/putter top right, 3/4 irons mid right, 5/6 mid left, 7/8/9 bottom right, PW/52/58 bottom left. All on an electric remote push cart. When I use my Staff carry bag, it's set up like Mike has his in the 4way divider.

Not to be flippant to your question about keeping the clubs organized, but everyone has their own way of grouping into the four sections and whatever way you choose, it won't really matter. Titleist thought ahead and actually added some numbers to the bottom of each club so as you rummage through each section you can grab the one you need to perform the shot at hand. Believe me, i am borderline OCD and have used a four-way divider successfully for years now. :) Have fun and pick the bag you like best and set it up however you choose!
  17. From personal experience I definitely prefer the 14 way divider bags, abit OCD so this I know each club has it own slot. In terms of organisation of club, I have driver, putter and 3 wood at the top dividers then wedges at the bottom.
