  1. So today I almost lost my Titleist towel on the course. I would of been pretty bummed if I hadn't notice when I did.

Have you ever had a close call or worse actually lost something at a course you played?

Some awesome people actually shout you to let you know you left something behind.

Would love to hear your experiences with this situation.

I lost my Olympic Club towel a good 3 times before the golf gods finally gave up on getting it back to me.
  3. Aww that sucks but at least you had it a bit longer.

I was playing the 2nd hole par 3 on my home course. Beautiful summer day, wind is about 4mph, a slight chatter of birds cheeping in the background. I hit an impressive tee shot into the green - putted out, walked to my bag and to the next hole then glance back over my shoulder with the next group getting ready to tee off..

It's not until they're about to hit I realise something is wrong, very wrong. I shout back a drawn out "noooooooooo" as I run to the tee box. My tee! my Titleist tee! It's still on the tee box and one of those guys might be using it. They look at me in a panic and try to understand the situation.

I get to the tee, they stand back apprehensive of why I have sprinted 170yards towards them. There it is, my tee, my Titleist tee, broken.

I place it in the tee bin and vow never to leave a tee behind again as a walk slowly to the next hole and hold the guys up so they complain of slow play.

I got an A in creative writing at GCSE.

  5. Ok enjoyed that.

In all fairness it wasn't just any old tee.

Yup..My lapse of memory happened two months ago when I left my Vokey 60D on the 18th green.. Noticed it next time at the course a week later and no one turned it in.. Ooh well, now I toss clubs near the bag..Uuugh!

Had the same thing happen about 6 months ago except it was my 52* Vokey SM6. Didn't notice until I got home and was cleaning my clubs. Same result. Never saw it again.

Had several close calls with Titleist towels until I bought a grommet kit and put grommets on all my towels so I could hook them to a D-ring on my bag.

I was on the 5th green at my course, looking at a downhill birdie putt. I reach into my pocket for my favorite marker. It was one of those flat magnetic ones. I couldn't find it right away so I grabbed what was in my pocket.Anyway, I pull it out along with tees and a divot tool, and the marker fell between my fingers onto the green and rolled right into the damn hole! It found its way to the very bottom, that little space here the flag sits. When I finished the round, I asked the golf shop if one of the greenskeepers could retrieve it the next time he changed the hole location, but I never saw the marker again. Now you'd think the golf gods would make good and the birdie would drop.......nope!

    Can't make this stuff up.....

Lost my heinie towel, the towel I carried in my hip pocket to clean my golf balls with. Actually it was my Heineken Beer brand towel. Very small and have had it for years. Lost it when visiting a friend in Durham, NC recently. Guess it got passed on to someone else. Hope that get as much enjoyment out of it as I did. Hakuna matata.

Chuck, Not sure if you're going to see this but I stopped by Hillandale this morning and had them check thru their lost and found. No towel. Sorry but I tried.

I've lost a putter cover on the course before, it was returned to me by the group behind us at the next tee box, thankful for slow play on that one. I then lost the same putter cover in the parking lot of apartment complex, found it a day later after it was soaked from rain. I haven't lost it since those events.

Older putter covers falling off while walking as the velcro gets worn. My original Scotty Cameron cover was always falling off after about 5 seasons. luckily ppl would pick it up, or I would head back a few hundred yards to find it. Eventually i purchased a new cover that would stay on!

I lose golf balls on the course all the time. Does that count?? haha

My cousin and I were playing not to long ago and he lost his phone. He uses the 18birdies app for yardage distance and had placed the phone on the golf cart seat. After he hit his shot he got in the cart and zoomed off. Realized it a few holes later. We spent the better part of two hours looking for it, but nothing. He went home and used his iPad to locate the lost phone, it was on the 15th fairway. He went the next morning to get it while the ground crew was out mowing. Cell phone was found! Ha that will teach him lol.
  15. Hard to believe but I actually lost my Titleist umbrella on the course. Was windy and in my cart...next thing I know it was gone! Shame too, my daughter loved using it...figure Santa will bring one back this year.

While in Georgia last year on business I played several rounds of golf & during one round I chose after 9 to go in the club house something I normally don't do & when I was putting my clubs away at the end of the round my New Team Titleist Bag Tag had wondered off. I know I had it at the turn as my towel clips right next to it and by my tee & marker pocket. Felt really lost & angry for awhile until I got home and put my old one back on the bag.

  18. left my leather masters beer coozie in a cart one afternoon. Went by the club the next morning but was informed “it probably got thrown away...” I’m sure the cart boy is still drinking natty out of my coozie

Lost a Master's poker chip, never expect to see that again, too valuable. Lost two putter covers on the course, one was found by the staff, the other was never seen again. Lost my 9i also twice, once a neighbor who was playing behind me brought it back to me. The other time, it showed up in the pro shop the next day.

I leave my towel and clubs when walking off green in the path I have to take to get back to my bag. That way I never lose towels or clubs.

    Probably too much experience.
Headcovers/gloves/towels either show up at the end after the next 3-4 groups behind me or just disappear. Clubs while still on course will be found, either at the spot or with one of the following groups. Usually LH clubs are not as coveted. Although it was a mystery about 9 years ago when a LH Cobra graphite 7I went AWOL. It couldn't have been worth more than $10.

My Cash is King putter cover from the Custom Shop for some reason is losing its Velcro stickiness. It seems to fall off causing me to scour the course for at least a hole until I find it...

    Interesting topic, well done.
