I played a few days ago with a few of my buddies and probably saw one of the strangest and funniest shots I've ever seen playing golf..  I'm not sure how the heck he did this and really wish i was making this up but i'm not..  I still can't believe it...

He's in deep rough (grass up to his knees), sets up to hit a wedge shot with a wider stance than usual..  He swings and then my mouth just dropped..  The ball somehow, someway went through his leg during his follow thru and ended up behind his back....   Me and my buddies couldn't believe what we just saw and broke down in laughter..   I could try to attempt the same thing a 1000 times and no way could I pull that off...

He must've hit it twice..  I don't know but it was odd...

Thought I would share that and was wondering if anyone else experience a strange shot that just "dropped your mouth"..

    Cheers and play well..

Once off the tee I took my Three Wood and hit it hard.  I pulled the shot big time.  Went so far left it hit a tree right in the middle of the trunk then bounced back to my feet.  Nobody said anything.  But I could not get that shot out of my mind!  But I hit the ball so pure!!!

    That is awesome!

The strangest shot I ever hit was years ago.  Drove it wild and the ball hit a tree maybe 50y off the tee box.  It came right back to me, and stopped a few inches away from my tee.

The strangest (and luckiest) shot I ever saw was about ten years ago, on a severely elevated par 3, with a green that is protected by a creek.  The shot in question was hit by a player in the twosome playing behind us.  We were waiting on the next tee box, and just happened to look back.  I saw the person completely duff it off the tee... shot went maybe 10 yards at most.  But then it trickled and trickled, and caught the slope and ran all the way down to the water.  Just before going in the creek, it hit a rock, and bounced up in the air, over the creek, and onto the green, where it caught the ridge, and rolled toward the hole, struck the pin, and went it.  The only ace I've ever seen with my own eyes (to date).  Complete fluke.  They say that an ace is 90% talent and 10% luck, but not that one.  Someday I hope to have an ace of my own, but that's not how I visualize mine happening!

Although I typically play with some really good players in my regular group, a round with some of my buddies I grew up with almost always leaves us with some interesting stories.  In preparation for one of those rounds, we were on the practice tee at TPC Sugarloaf and a good friend of mine was (fortunately) behind me.  We had worked our way up and were hitting a few drivers when I turned just as my buddy hit a "drive" between his legs somehow (apparently closing the face completely) that had top spin and kicked up nearly hitting a guy a few spots down the tee behind him!  Seeming to pretend it wasn't him, he promptly tees another one up and hits it straight as a string nearly 300 yards.  I was in such shock from the previous shot, I didn't even have a chance to laugh until the guy he nearly hit called out, "There is no way the guy that hit the previous shot just hit that one"!  Which caused everyone out there to bust out laughing!

I saw someone I was paired with flare an iron short left of the green ,bounce off the cart path, off a tree branch and end up about two inches from the hole.

The strangest shot I've seen happened on a par 3 where my wife, who had just recently started playing, pushed her tee shot right and into the woods, where it proceeded to rattle around off some trees. The ball bounced back out of the woods onto the green, and came to a stop about 3 feet from the hole.

During one of our casual rounds one day, my cousin Dan hit his tee shot on the 200 or so yard par 3 4th hole, and pushed it a little right of the green. It banged into one of the trees just right of the green....and two balls fell out...!! We were going to make him play both balls out, but we all were laughing so hard we forgot about that.... B.P.

I was playing in a section tournament for Minnesota High School golf about 15 years ago.  The weather had turned very cold a few days before the tournament and it actually snowed heavily during the round.  One of the kids I was playing with pulled his shot right into a pond about 50 yards short of the green.  Luckily for him the pond had frozen over the last couple days with just a thin layer of ice.  His ball bounced twice and caught the edge of the green for a GIR. Unbelievable.

I once watched a woman hit her tee shot on a 165 yard Par 3 and basically roll the ball the entire way. In sheer amazement, when her ball reached the green we watched it methodically continue to roll, take the break of the green, and ultimately roll in the hole for a HOLE-IN-ONE. Incredible how the Golf Gods reward good people during the oddest of shots.

I have never had a hole in one and have only seen one made, with the luckiest of breaks.  Executive course in Montana with holes way too close together.  Had just finished playing a par 4 and was walking off the green.  The green to the left was a par 3 and a guy was teeing off so I watched his shot.  He bladed what he later said was a line drive 7 iron and in disgust turned away, the ball hits the flag, not the flagstick, and drops right in the cup.  Looked over and he was still turned away pouting I guess so me and my wife started clapping.  Boy was he surprised, we had some good laughs together after we finished.  Yes, he was playing a Titleist.

One of the strangest shots I have ever witnessed came from one of my best friends. This was about 12 years ago and we were playing a local course we played often. There is a short par 3 playing only about 115 yards that day. He looked up on his tee shot and completely bladed the ball. The ball flew completely over the green about 3 feet off the ground until it hit a fence some distance behind the green. The ball bounced off the fence up into the air and came back onto the green. As you can imagine, the ball was tracking straight for the hole. As we all watched in amazement, the ball kept rolling towards the hole and stopped just a few inches short of the hole. Just to rib him we all jokingly determined that it would not have actually counted as a hole in one anyway if he made it given the circumstances, especially as far as our wagers were concerned!

This is one I hit years ago. I had 150-160 to the green. There was a stand of trees on the right about a 100 yards up, but not directly in my path. You can see this coming, right? I hit a very solid iron shot that hit the middle of the last tree on the left. The ball bounced back at me and I caught it on the fly. My "friends" were rolling on the grass laughing. One of them still gives me grief about it and insists on telling the story again every time I have to hit a shot around or over some trees.

Had a highschool buddy of mine, tee off with a drive. Hit a tree thirty yards off the tee, and with out moving an inch, reached up and caught the ball.
