I was looking at the Ball Fitting info and in the "comparison" portion it says that the yardage difference between the Titleist models off of the driver was only 4-6 yds.  My question is this, does this difference hold for all of the clubs?  Lately I have found that I keep coming up short on approach shots (7-PW).  Last year I switched from the Velocity to the DT SoLo mainly for the softness, but as I said I have been coming up short on the approaches and was wondering if I should switch back.  Now I know that I should take both balls out on the course and compare them side by side and I plan on doing that next week, but I thought that I would ask if the driver distance spread holds for iron shots as well.  If it does, is there a way that you could say which of the balls would be that little bit longer and which would be that little bit shorter?  Thanks for the help.  Fairways and greens.

The amount of spin you apply with your irons will make a difference.  The distance posted was achieved with a machine with a much better stroke than me.  A DT Solo may balloon more that something like an NXT Tour.  The -S may balloon more, as well.  The local First Tee got about 4 dozen Brand S and Brand B balls that were a good 10 yards shorter than NXT Tour/Pro-V1x for me.

On the other end of the club, I lost distance over the winter.  Over-swinging and releasing my lag too early on irons, especially 7I down, the lag release and flatter swing increased the effective loft with slower speed.  Higher and shorter shots resulted.  A couple of lessons have improved it back to where it was.  ...If the game was just a little bit easier...

I'm not sure if they can do what you ask. The diver is usually hit at somewhat full speed. My guess is that you are trying to hit your approach shots to precise and not making of full swing. If you are swinging more controlled with your approach shots and not making a full swing as with your driver that may be the difference in your short iron distance. Just my thoughts.
