I HAVE BEEN HITTING THE BALL REALY HIGH LATELY  BUT I HAVE BEEN HITTING IT REALLY GOOD AS WELL.  I HAVE  A 910 D3 LEFTY DRIVER W/ A STOCK STIFF SHAFT AND AP2  STIFF STEEL DRYNAMIC IRONS...THE DRIVER IS SET AT C4 WHICH IS ACCORDING TO TITLEIST LEFTY CHART IS NOT A PARTICULARLY HIGH SETTING.  AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY MY DRIVER BUT TO MAKE THIS MORE CONFUSING MY COBRA 3 AND 5 STIFF HYPERSTEEL FAIRWAY WOODS  JUST RECENTLY BEGAN GOING HIGHER THEN EVER OFF THE FAIRWAY AND TEES AS WELL.

SHOULD I BE BE WORRIED W/ THE NEW HEIGHT OF THE BALL?  SHOULD I BE SATISFIED W/ THE NEW FLIGHT? AM I LOSING DISTANCE? ANY TIPS /ADVICE IS APPRECIATED.

    THANKS,

    DAVID

  2. What kind of ball do you use? Which gen are your AP2's? The lofts/lie angles can change with forged clubs, depending on how much you use them, where you strike the ball, etc.. I'd go visit your local Titleist rep to have your irons checked out and to have your launch angles/spin, A.O.D., etc., checked out as well.

NXT TOUR BALLS.  AP2 IRONS NOT SURE WHAT GENERATION BUT THEY ARE 2 YRS OLD.  910 D3 DRIVER 10.5. SET TO C4 ON LEFT CHART. FAIRWAY WOODS ARE 3 AND 5 COBRA HYPERSTEEL W/ NO HEIGHT SETTINGS AND THEY ARE GOING VERY HIGH AS WELL. I AM PRETTY SURE THAT NULLIFIES CHANCE OF DRIVER SETTING BEING TOO HIGH FOR ME.

    THANKS,

    DAVID

Play with your stance a little bit.  Maybe you are playing "apparently" more forward in your stance and hitting up.  Or you have been swinging more upright.  Ball position in relation to the torso is generally in line with the shirt pocket or head slightly behind.  Try playing with the front foot more forward (it appears like it is more back in the stance and flattens your shoulders) - tilts the club forward.

If you watch the pros, their heads remain behind the ball but you also notice they lean the shaft forward because the front foot is more forward.

It took me awhile to get used to high ball flight with the newer clubs.  When I played old school clubs, they had a pretty low trajectory.
