  1. Hello,

What is a good power to weight ratio?

I´m 175 cm, 15 yr, small skinny guy, 115 lbs.

I hit drives at around 235m.

    Is that good?

    Thanks for all the help.

Great and you probably out drive most of the men on the golf course (that is 252 yards in American units).   Your height is 5'9" .   I was 6' tall and about 140 lb at age 16.  I drove close to that distance and hit my record drive of 325 yards at that time (a little tailwind and downhill hole helped).  I hit an old school 7 iron about 160 yards then (146m).

  3. Okej thanks,

I´m actually a very short driver at my club, my friends are probably 40m+ infront of me at drives.

    I hit a 7i around 140m.

good question , I think driving the ball is all about loading up power in your backswing. Properly swing the club can make a big difference in the overall yardage you get , regardless of how tall or short you are. At least thats what I have seen .....

Must be a bunch of golf pros there. The average country club golfer definitely drives about 220 yards or so and most of in the caddyshack could outdrive a lot of the men (I was a caddie in 1972).

im 16 and weigh about 175 and i am about 270- 280 (yards) off the tee with a new 910 D2. i hit it fairly far compared to some younger people i play with but whenever i play with the heavier older guys, they seem to hit it farther than i do most times.

i wouldnt worrie about power to weight ratio's or your total distance. Technuiqe i would say is probably the most important factor. its all about how you load the shaft and your swing technique. if you have a big shoulder turn you generaly can generate more club head speed witch most of the time equates to more ball speed, witch if your spin rate and launch angle's are good will give you a longer shot. but this is all just numbers. being able to hit a ball 300 yards with a driver isnt always a plus. if you on a 360 yard par 4 then your haveing to hit a half wedge of some sort that your guessing how hard to swing. focus on fairways and course management. just remember its not about how far you hit it from the tee box but how close you hit your approch to the pin
