  1. I purchased a set of 735cm irons last summer, and I am beginning to question their authenticity. I need some tips on distinguishing if a set is counterfeit. I bought them on eBay from a company named Gus and Grump Golf. They removed their account immediately after I purchased them.

I just did some searching on the internet and found your seller. According to Ebay they are not available anymore, but their web site, gusand grump.com, shows that they are a company located in Austin, Texas, and they refinish golf clubs. I tried searching Ebay for you with no success. My advice would be to contact both Ebay and the aforementioned seller for authentication ofyour clubs. Also Titleist may want to look into this alos for you to try an determine if this seller is legitimate and what they may be able to do to stop them.

I don't know if you still have any chance, but e

Ebay does have some ways to protect you. That said, it may be too long since you made your purchase to have any recourse, but it couldn't hurt to try. All you can do is try Ebay and see what they can do for you.

    Hi John,

Here is a link to our counterfeit notice page. It should help provide you with some information on our brand protection activities along with tips on how to spot fakes and what to do if you believe you've purchased counterfeit products. Hope this helps.

John, the same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I purchased a set of AP2s on ebay, a private seller who had a very good rating so I got my money back from him once it was determined the clubs were fake. I got lucky. A couple of things that I was told was for brand new clubs, the grips shouldn't have the Titleist logo facing up. But these had a serial number on the 6 iron, but after checking it, it came back not found. Also comparing the head shape of the irons, they were different. I won't be buying anything, especially my Titleist equipment again off ebay. Hope you get satisfaction.

Thats one of the main reasons I don't purchase clubs on eBay. If I purchase online its through a real outlet like Golf Galaxy or Edwin Watts Golf.
  8. I am the owner of Gus and Grump Golf and I can assure you it is not our intention to sell counterfeit clubs. Our ebay account is still up and running and it has never been taken down. What about your clubs seem counterfeit?

    Matthew,

I went to Ebay and they do  not acknowledge that your site still exists. It may be glitch, but that doesn't look good from my perspective. I tried several different approaches and all came back negative  or I would never have responded in a negative way as I did.
