It would appear that we all recognize certain brands by certain players and their popularity.  The one thing that bothers me is that we seem to have had in the stable in the beginning and they now are gone and we don't seem to have anyone with that charisma representing our line. Granted, Steve Stricker and Zach Johnson are excellent represtatives for Titleist, but for some reason they don't seem to create that certain excited following that the others seem to have.

My question to all of our group is; "Who would you like to see as someone who could rep the Titleist brand as well as those mentioned above rep theirs???""

Adam Scott? Kyle Stanley? Nick Watney? Bill Haas? And of course, Rory Mcilroy? Not a bad crew!

Jason, a few weeks ago I said "who is Kyle Stanley?", and I felt bad for him having the jitters and losing that tournament.

The next week he won, only because Levine's jitters were worse than Kyle's. I thought Ben Crane was going to win, until he fell.

Speaking of Ben Crane, yes everyone remembers the 5min of seizures he had before each shot, but is now a joy to watch and his interviews have always been well handled.

And let's not forget Webb Simpson, I believe he already has a good size following.

If Kyle Stanley leaves his swing alone, and gets rid of the jitters, he is gonna open a can of whoopass on the PGA Tour. Then that "excited group of followers" that only follows the dominate, will be back to being excited followers........notice since the once dominate is no longer dominate, the excited followers are nowhere to be found.

Well whether Kyle Stanley was heard of on tour a few weeks ago or not, was not really the original point you made was it? I was working on the understanding of your original post, saying that Titleist don't really have a major "personality".As you rightly pointed out, the "demise" of the dominant one in golf has led to "fans" being nowhere to be found. But these are not true fans of the game in my opinion. I love the sport for what it is, not for who plays it! Though things maybe different over there in the US. But an influx of new young players have been coming to the fore. This can only only be good for golf in general, and I believe Titleist is right at the centre of many of these young guns in world golf right now, with some of the players already mentioned.

Yes it was the original point I made, in fact it was the first thing I said.

"I was working on the understanding of your original post, saying that Titleist don't really have a major "personality"."

I did not say, or imply any such thing. The original post of this thread did say that, that was written by eagle not me.

"As you rightly pointed out, the "demise" of the dominant one in golf has led to "fans" being nowhere to be found. But these are not true fans of the game in my opinion."

Yes I said that, and I agree with your opinion of these people.

I chose to respond to you because I agreed with you, but I wanted to point out you missed Webb Simpson and Ben Crane.

My saying Kyle Stanley is going to open a can of whoopass on the PGA Tour means he his good and I think he will be a dominate player.

I too am a fan of the game, if given the choice to play the game or watch the game I will play the game every time.

I do not understand how anything or anybody can be good for the game, if you mean good for the people that make money from the game I can understand that.

I would love to see Phil rolling a Napa, hitting a 910, and sporting some Icons.  He's a great player, a classy guy, and a hall of famer.  I can't think of anyone better to represent a brand.

That said, Titleist has some awesome players who create a buzz. Adam Scott, Nick Watney, Bill Hass, and that kid from Northern Ireland... He's pretty good

Phil is a nice guy, but wish we would see him shout 'fore' when he launches his drives into the gallery, a child could be seriously hurt or worse one day. It can't always be left to course marshalls to do the job of ball spotting that dropping out of the sky at 100mph+.

I was actually referring to Eagle3 post, inferring to Titleist not having major personalities. As for Webb Simpson and Ben Crane, apologies for missing them out and I agree with you on that issue. Tho I do wish that certain players would speed up their pre shot routines somewhat, and to some players on the PGA tour, please stop spitting!!! Its a disgrace, its not a football game and has no place in golf, and not something that I want my young son to see players doing. As for being good for the game, what I meant was for the young fans who turn into players, and carry on the traditions of the great game.

Titleist has quite a large following in the pro's untill this weekend i think on snedeker was the only one to win on the pga or euro tour not wearing a titleist hat.

Its tough to answer that question because there are so many players that do already represent heavily for Titleist. McIlroy, DJ and Watney even though I think DJ is for TM

How can you get any more exciting than McIlroy? It's got to be the lack of a Titleist hat, but he'll be fun to watch for a long time, holding those poses with a Titleist driver. And Bill Haas is a good guy to be proud of repping Titleist.

I honestly believe that if AK tossed his current sticks and got some Titleist, we'd see him a whole lot more on TV on the weekends.
