Coldest temps I've played in so far this winter is 40s. Played this past Sunday and the temps were in the high 50s by the time my round was over. Temps will be in the high 40s or low 50s on the day after Christmas. Plan on playing then. It's nice to walk in these temps.

hey Josh - just played today in Bklyn, NY - it was beautiful out there - I only got 9 in, but that's 9 more than I was planning to play in December! Shot a 39!

Not bad at all, especially for late December! One of my best friends lives in Red Hook and can't believe how nice it's been.
Planning on getting out tomorrow. I still can't believe that it's nearly New Years and I'm still teeing it up in New England. Just awesome!

Boston here- I would love to get out and play a few more rounds. I just got two sets of UnderArmour Base Layers... I'm ready to roll. Let's go. My buds are done for the year. LEt's talk. TPI Golf fitness coach and Junior coach here... What's going on for your off-season training?

Hey Brandon, I actually got out to play yesterday. You could keep your base layers in the car. It was 44* and sunny. I just rocked my Performance Sweater from FootJoy and was toasty warm. I'm always down to play as long as the course is still open. Mine closes this Saturday regardless of weather.
As for off season training I'm not sure. I'd love to do something golf specific.
Just got off my last midnights, 35*, supposed to reach 52* today with low of 45* tonight and 52* again tomorrow.
I'm gonna run, shower, wait for 40*, and head to the course.......won't have to wait tomorrow
Still, STILL golfing in Massachusetts.
I teed it up again today. I'm not going to lie, it was cold. It was 30*, but sunny, and I was the only person to tee it up all day. I also felt like a beast for getting on the par 5 in 2 with 3 wood (couldn't get a tee in the ground) 5 iron. It was straight out of links golf. Just ran the 5 iron about 225. Having the course to yourself is great too. There's definitely a lot of adjusting to do when the ground is rock hard, but I'll play as long as I can. FJ makes some awesome layers and I stayed as warm the whole round.
Anyone else get out there today?
Apparently golf is year round in Massachusetts. I played in January and I just got out for a February round. It was a touch cold 40* and sunny, but I layered up and had a great time. There's no snow on the course, and it's actually in pretty good shape. Great shape considering it's February! I did have to adopt one winter rule though. I didn't give myself the 2 stroke penalty for hitting this flag stick with my putt.

That is truly amazing, how lucky. We still have no consistent snow cover and decent 40 degree temps, but courses are closed and ground is frozen, btw You should change the name of this post to "already playing in massachusets"! Anyways have fun hitting 250 yard 8 irons with all the roll your probably getting
It is amazing, and I'm very thankful. The strategy is really fun as well. Some holes that see shade most of the day are playing links style for sure. Going 4 iron- wedge into a par 5 makes me feel like Bubba. Some of the others are actually very soft. It's been a crazy winter December- February for sure.

Josh - a little chilly this weekend, but mid week looks promising! Strange to say that mid-February is playable up here.
PS - agree on using the FJ Performance Sweater - can't beat it for warmth and dryness (yes, it is a waterproof sweater)!
I played in Minnesota believe i or not, It was only 40 also but there is still no snow, the ground was frozen and it was fun getting roll and hitting an 8 iron 230 yards, I just played with a 2i, 8i, SW it was amazing, hopefully it doesnt snow anytime soon, and not to mention I found about 20 ProV1's around the course so a great way to get out of the house!

Wow, I really want dont want to make this sound like a rant but please dont get me started on the weather here in Chicago. There are not very many courses that are open for golf at this time. I cant wait to get to Arizona in 5 weeks!! I hope Woodstock Willy was right
Golf was year round this year in Massachusetts. I'm proud to say that this is the first you I haven't had an "off season." Hopefully my game will be razor sharp once the "season" starts.
