I miss the old Skins Game, back when it was Arnie, Jack, Lee and Fuzzy. Let's revive it with 4 PGA Tour pros, no celebrities please. And 4 pros with PERSONALTY. $100,000.00 a hole and let it rip!

Agree. I miss it too. Wasn't it the Wendy's Challenge? Good times. Rory, Tiger, JT, and Jordan would be great

Not only do I miss the Skins game, but I used to love the Grand Slam of golf event they used to do in Hawaii every year with the four major winners.

You could do a Skins game, money goes to charity of the pros choice. Use the 4 Major winners or Top 4 in PIP standings. All mic'd up both caddies and players. 9 holes made for TV.

    I'd watch.

First foursome out: Charlie Hoffman, Tom Kim, Matt Kuchar, BOO Weekly. Met Charlie Hoffman on the 10th tee during the practice rounds at the PGA Championships at The Ocean Course. He is crazy. Tom the engine always has a fun smile on his face. Who would be your foursome. I really enjoyed them playing for charity in the past. PGA/LPGA pros only. There are some goofy gals out there also. Could do some mixed doubles, now that would be fun. Think you might have hit on something.
  5. Used to love watching the Skins Game with my dad, funny that this article just came up about it too.

I miss the old skins games with my buddies. Injuries and age keep getting in the way.

This is such a different time with the primary golfers being from so many parts of the world. Even silly season doesn't always attract the cream (see Hero World Challenge field). I also used to like the World Series of Golf with Ernie Johnson doing p-b-p; two rounds in a nice location was good entertainment. Skins game with matching charitable funds would be more interesting than some of the celebrity matches recently promoted; that isn't 'golf'!

Would love to see four of them (any four, honestly), playing for their own money...

Fond memories of watching the Skins Game with my dad when I was younger. I was fortunate enough to be able to play the Mauna Lani South Course during my honeymoon. Mauna Lani South was the host of the Skins Game from 1990-2000. I didn't realize it until a few holes in but the back of the signs at each tee area had listed who won what skin, how much and when. The pro shop was like a time capsule with memorabilia from their host years.

Golf is such a unique sport that we have the opportunity to play in the same arena as the game's legends.
  10. One of my favorite events!

Sadly, these events were added bonus money that those players wanted and needed as the PGA purses were so much smaller than today's money. Top players today would not bother signing up for anything that did not pay significantly more than they are already making, thus the reason these celebrity events started happening to fill the gap. Unfortunately, the Skins Game has gone the way of the NFL Pro Bowl, where player value and the risk of injury has outweighed the entertainment value for the fans. The downside of big money in pro sports.
  12. Agreed. Would also love to see something along the lines of the old Shells Wonderful World of Golf. Two pro golfers, one course, great access to the players and great golf.
