  1. So I was wondering on pro tour at tournaments, does the host site have all MFG golf balls for them to hit on the range. For those , god forbid ,the are not hitting Titleist

They actually do have each model available to the professional players.

Yes, they have separate bags of balls that match their gamers. The range crew separate them back after picking them up each day. It used to not be that way but as big money became involved, it changed.

As much as we loyalists would like to see all the players hitting the number one ball on the tour, each player is provided range balls of the brand they play. Requires at lot of work from the volunteers but the players cannot warm up with balls they will not be playing for millions of dollars. If you ever volunteers to work a PGA event, this is a pretty good committee to work on.

I remember years ago when I first started to attend PGA Tournaments, Titleist practice balls were the only ball in the range. Now, all the mfg's are out there. When I first joined PGA Golf Club 6 years ago we had ProV1 practice balls on the range and they made their way into people's bags. Now, we have cally's. Ugh!

It doesn't make much sense to practice with a ball you wouldn't use in competition. Even the Titleist
practice balls as I understand were equivalent to the x'ed out ball of yesteryear

The last PGA tour event I was at they have each brand and model ball that the players use is bags. There were even some that had specific players names on them.

It makes sense that they would want to try new club would want to see what the effect is when they use the same ball they use on the course.

At all the events that I have attended they have each players golf ball and they have volunteers sorting the range balls after they are picked.
