Being that the Presidents Cup is upcoming and we are in need of a new topic in this thread other than the slow play discussion at the top LOL, whats everyone thinking about the prez cup?

Are you excited to see some stars play golf in December?

Who do you think will win?

Myself, I am excited to see some golf but really excited to see Royal Mellbourne Gof Club, this course is always ranked top 5 in the world. Sometimes big events are played on some not so respected course, so its gonna be cool to see how the best in the world play on one in the best of the world!

A lot of analyst think that the US will win relatively easily. I am not so sure because golf is a funny game and anything can happen. I hope the US wins, but the international squad is due for a inspired performance. There are some good players on both sides. I do think the US wins though. What do you guys think?

Should be a great match and glad to see that Rickie Fowler was added to replace Brooks Koepka. Sorry the number one player cannot make the trip, but health issues do come first. Best of luck to both teams.

Anxious to see what little of the golf course is possible. One of the great courses in the world. Hope the matches are exciting and close.

Definitely excited to see the course!
  6. Being English I am a neutral observer.....The US team look stellar even without Brookes!
They must be odds on favourites against a good International team
Justin Thomas and Patrick Read the stars is my prediction
  7. Can’t wait to watch the US team compete again. Also can’t wait to watch Tiger as a playing captain and the decisions he makes during the tournament. Should be fun to watch!

    Hi Team Titleist!

I've put the summary down the list for you guys:

    Team United States:
    Captain: Tiger Woods

    - Dustin Johnson
    - Justin Thomas
    - Matt Kuchar
    - Xander Schauffele
    - Webb Simpson
    - Patrick Cantlay
    - Bryson Dechambeau
    - Tiger Woods
    - Gary Woodland
    - Tony Finau
    - Patrick Reed
    - Rickie Fowler

    Team International:
    Captain: Ernie Els

    - Hideki Matsuyama
    - Adam Scott
    - Louis Oosthuizen
    - Marc Leishman
    - Abraham Anser
    - Haotong Li
    - C.T. Pan
    - Cameron Smith
    - Jason Day
    - Joaquin Niemann
    - Adam Hadwin
    - Sungjae Im

By looking at the names I honestly am dissapointed in mr. Ernie Els lot of Asian players, I would have expected more from the PGA European Tour. I'm putting my names on the the US team.
Strangely Tiger is captain and player... nice combination. Looking at ticket prices weekly 530 AUS dollar and it's the other side of the world I will be watching it from the t.v.

Somehow I hope mr. Donald Trump will invite the players to the white house if they win. But somewhere I see TIGER only coming up.

I'm putting my money on Tiger and US. What about you?

    Regards, BirdieBarty

    Liversedge,

The Presidents Cup teams are made up of a American team and a International Team , players on the European tour are excluded, they play the Americans in the Ryder Cup which excludes the International players.

The President's Cup is cool, and we'll watch it. A buddy of mine generally throws a party and we all stay up till 2am (or whenever the coverage is over) Friday night and cheer on the stars and stripes. I can't see the USA losing the Cup this year.

I think it will be interesting to see how TW handles the dual role of captain/player. I suspect he will rely heavily on Strick, Freddie and Zach. I also wonder about how many of the matches he will play.

Royal Melbourne always shows well on TV the few times I've seen it. Kind of Pinehurst #2-looking with firm and fast fairways and sandy soil. Not the plush green we see on the PGA Tour. I think it looks cool and love the conditions. With a limited field we will see 1 through 18 and the matches should prove fairly even. I think it will be close but the USA will win on a Gary Woodland clutch putt late...

Has turned into a very interesting match. The US captain is leading by example. Hopefully it will work on Saturday and Sunday. The International players a playing great team golf. Els is putting together some awesome teams. It ain't over until the Kuala sings on Sunday.
