I don't know what the appeal is, but for some reason Riviera is definitely way up there on my bucket list. The 10th hole, the 18th hole, and that opening tee shot just look incredible. The field is always strong, the history runs deep, and I love hearing about the kikuyu grass. I know it's not Augusta, Oakmont or Shinnecock, but there's something about the Riv!

How about you guys, do you look forward to Riviera every year, or even better, have you had the good fortune to play there?

Agree, always a tourney I like to watch. The US Amateur there last summer was also excellent. It would be a dream be able to tee it up at Riviera.

Amen Sauce. It just has that old school charm that makes you enjoy it.
Would love to get the chance at it.

I've been to Riviera and it is an amazing place. I've been fortunate to walk the grounds during a major there. Great architecture if you are into that sort of thing. I should have sat behind #10 green for day just to look at the tee shots coming in.

#6 is an amazing hole. #18 is very daunting if you are coming down the stretch and have to make par or better to win. George C. Thomas did an amazing job. Riviera does not get the credit it really deserves.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have been to the West Coast to play several times and Riviera is the one course I regret not going to play!

Riviera is one of my all time favorite courses and tournaments also. Too bad its not open to the public to play. Its just a great classic layout and judging from the tournament results, a great test of golf skill. The best 3 west coast courses to play, Torrey Pines, Pebble Beach, and Riviera. Riviera being the only one you can't play. Too bad.
