It was the opening tournament of our 2026 season for the US Am Tour. We were playing at Timber Ridge Golf Course in East Lansing, Michigan. It was a shotgun start for the tournament and we started on hole #13. I was luckily paired up with my friend Aurelio Valadez from work for this round, with 2 others i have played with before. Hole #4 was a 135 yard Par 3. I grabbed my 9 iron hoping to just put it close. It landed about 6-7 feet past the hole. There happened to be a downslope just past the pin, which the ball landed on and rode it down slowly until it dropped. All of us on the tee box, including the group behind us on the green, went crazy! I couldn't believe that. I have been playing golf for over 15 years, currently am a 18 handicap, and never thought i would get one. It is something I will never forget. I struggled during the rest of the tournament, shooting an abysmal 99, but it was irrelevant after that hole in one :)
