I had just got my handicap back a week prior & decided to play my first competition in almost a year. Finished the front 9 not playing my best golf but was hitting my driver well, so when it came to hole 10 instead of usually laying up on a short par 4 I decided to let the big stick eat. Hit the best drive of the day, a tight little fade straight at the green. As we got closer to the green we couldn’t see my ball in front like we were assuming. It’s a bit of a blind shot so we assumed it might have caught an unlucky bounce into the hazard just left of the green. 2 of my playing partners were searching the right side bunkers of the green, while me & my scoring partner were looking into the hazard. As I was checking behind the green one of the players asked if I had checked the hole. I laughed & said of course not, only to have him ask me what ball was I playing again. I told him a Titleist Pro V1x with the number 4. He started laughing & screamed “U made it mate”. Most incredible moment of my life. I can now proudly say I have made an albatross, & even better, a Hole in 1 on a Par 4!
