What a great feeling for the hole in one! My husband and I were playing a match in our Couples Match Play event and we had lost the match on hole 15 at The Legend at Merrill Hills. It was hot and I was crabby from losing. The other couple wanted to keep playing the rest of holes and I didn't want to. My husband said 'let's just tee off on the par 3 (hole 16) and maybe someone will get a hole in one' and we all laughed.
The guys teed off, then the ladies. I hit mine, saw it was a good hit, and picked up my tee. Husband starts to say how good the shot is and how it is going to end really close. Then he started yelling 'it is in hole, it's in the hole' and I looked over at him and told him to shut up it isn't in the hole. We drove up to the green, I got out and started walking over. There were 2 balls on the green and I was looking at them to see my pink mark - couldn't see one and I continued over to the hole - THERE IT WAS!! The ProV1 and my pink mark staring back up at me.
Besides this being my first hole in one, hole 16 at Merrill Hills was my grandfathers hole and he donated the money to install the pond and bridge to complete the hole layout. This made my hole in one extra special!!
