Just found this page so I'm able to share my story. My first hole-in-one after 33 years of trying and one item crossed off my golfing bucket list! 1st July 2021 on the par 3, 18th hole at Harpenden Common GC, UK, I hit a 7-iron to a front flag and we couldn't find my ball! I thought it had come up short rather than roll into one of 7 bunkers but there was no sign of it. My playing partner said to check in the hole and there was my Pro V1 at the bottom of the cup. Apart from the two of us playing there were just 2 people on the patio in front of the Clubhouse, a man chatting on a mobile phone and a lady who was not looking at the green. The rest of the round was a bit of a blur as we had another 9-holes to play before we could celebrate. The golf ball was immediately retired to the golf bag and later to my display cabinet.
