    Oslo,

Enjoying a great afternoon at our lovely RTJ II course at Miklagard GC in Oslo, my playing partner and I had just been discussing the redesign of the course and what we thought about the new holes. #12 is one of them. A short par 3 that normally plays about 130 yards from the club tees. Today around 120. We never had a short par 3 at Miklagard before. A championship course that earlier played 7500 yards from the tips, has now 5 new holes and been slightly shortened to about 7250 yards. We agreed that although we miss some of the old longer holes, the course is perhaps more fun for all golfers, and a short par 3 can be fun and give opportunities, but into the prevailing wind it can also be tricky. With this in mind I changed my club in the last minute and hit a soft and low 9 into the wind, instead of the normal wedge. I thinned it a little, but stated mid air that "I like it ..." A second later it settled nicely in the hole ... and my playing partner jumped up and down and broke all covid protocol with a big bear hug ... :) (I'm vaccinated, so all good, though ) :) The circus got attention from other golfers and I also enjoyed a good round of applaus. -Fun! With 6 holes left to play I now focused on securing a good score - which was not easy, but I shot 72 for the round - despite an irritating 3-putt on the 18th ... Morale of the day: be positive about the holes you play and good things can happen ... :)

    Oslo,

Thanks for the kind words, Peter.
This was my second HIO, but hopefully it won't be another 15 years until my next ... :)

    Cheers,
    Arne
