This hole in one was my 5th and what a great feeling, this was in our 1st drawn competition since the lock-down in March 2020, although I was not having a great round when I got the ace I though that may improve things, unfortunately I seemed to find every bit of trouble that was on the course.

My first Ace was the one, this was in a matchplay knock out on the 12th, this was in 2005 at the time I played off of about 14 and paying against a young lad darren Masterton playing off 5 at that time, now he is scratch, we were playing through a group, he teed off first and with the hole at the rear of the green playing into the sun we thought his ball had gone through the green, I teed off and the same result we thought, however when we got to the green we had both holed out, haved the hole with an Ace. A professor at Southampton University suggested that the chance of this happening was around 3.5 million to 1.
