  1. I have not played in almost 6 months, I went out with some friends this past Sunday (May 16th, 2021) to play Odessa Country Club Links Course (TX) I played in college 1986-1990 and played almost daily until about 20 years ago (birth of my first and only son). I always have high expectations when I get a chance to play, swing has held up pretty good over the years. Anyway, I shot 40 on the front bogeying both par 5's (Cardnial sin) and 4 putted 9 for a double, I was frustrated because I hit 6 greens and made nothing, but I was having fun and honestly tee to green I was solid. Made the turn and doubled a par 5 and then doubled from a 140 yards after a perfect drive on a very difficult par 4, I was seriously frustrated and grinding like crazy, but managed to bogey again on 16 (now I am at the dreaded 9 over). I made par at the 600 yard par 5 17th and then stepped on the tee of the 154 yard 18th. I am fist on the tee and after shooting my yardage, my playing partner ask if I am hitting 8 or 9? We have a decent little breeze in our faces and as I get older I stay away from trying to hit the ball HARD. I turned around and told him, "I think I will hit a little knock down 7", picked my line and one swing, one hop and a nice little check and I ended my round with a ONE and 79. Not to shabby with 38 putts $?!* Fun day and poor putting but what a fabulous way to end the day!
