Well, I guess anything is possible. Thursday I was playing in the final golf round of our Spring tournament. The day before, I had my second Moderna vaccination. During the round I got the chills, muscle aches, and general weakness. Needless to say, I wasn’t having a good round. Since we had a shotgun start and started on hole thirteen, we finished the first nine and had three holes left to play. I told my group I was feeling bad and was going to quit. One of them said you should try to finish to get a final score for you handicap. Grudgingly, I went ahead and finished. Holes 10 and 11 went about as expected. Teeing up on the par three twelfth, I hit a pure seven iron straight to the pin. My vision doesn’t allow me to see distances, but I was amazed to see those in my group cheering in disbelief. You guessed it. After 67 years of plying golf, approximately 1,800 rounds, with shots at 4,200 par three holes, I finally had my first hole in one!
