On an early May family visit to Pinehurst, we had the opportunity to play the Par 3 Cradle course. My eight year old son, Walker, had some new clubs in his bag from his recent birthday and was raring to go. It was one of the first days the driving range was now open since the pandemic had begun. When it was our time to play, Walker hurried to the tee box, teed up his Pro V1 ball, took a few practice swings, and whammo, off she went. His line drive on the 96 yard 1st hole was on a good line to the green. As the ball rolled up, it took a right turn toward the flagstick, and dropped in the hole. Walker had made a hole-in-one with his brand new clubs that had been put in his bag that day. He was ecstatic and ready for the moment as if he knew it was coming. It was a beautiful memory his father will never forget!
