First, I am not a golfer. After playing collegiate tennis and USTA tournaments for 50 years, my body finally wore out. So, I took up golf to be with my hubby. Made some new friends. Actually began to enjoy the sport. My weekly golf commitments grew and before long, I was playing tournaments and outings. During a particularly nice January Super Bowl Blitz tournament, where my foursome was the only female foursome playing, I aced the challenging Par 3 on Hole #4 at St Ives Country Club. My friends posed for a great selfie. What a day! Nearly 60 years old, and I made a hole-in-one! Nine iron and a Titleist ProV1. Thought that would be it, but then last week, during our annual Ladies Golf Outing at Brasstown Valley Resort, good fortune struck again! A blind shot Par 3 on #5 with a trusty Titleist Pro V1 and the 8-iron found its way to the hole. Cheers erupted from the same gals who were with me 6 years earlier for my first ace. Coincidence? Nah, just great friends and equipment! Oh, and by the way....I was there for their first Holes-in-One too!
