In July, 2020, my family was vacationing at Lake Oconee. I played golf as a single on my birthday and was paired up with two local members. We had an enjoyable round together. On Hole 15 at the Oconee course, I hit a PW right at the pin, which was 134 yards. From the tee box, we could tell the ball hit the pin, but due to the glare of the sun, we couldn’t see for certain if the ball was on the green or not. John drove quickly to the hole shouting “I think it’s in!” As he approached the green and scanned the green for my ball, he yelled “Hole in one!” and pumped his fist. I did a fist pump but did my best to contain my enthusiasm until I saw it for myself, because with forty something year old eyes, I have been surprised by where the ball actually ended. As I approached the hole and saw my Titleist ProV1 ball in the cup, I finally celebrated with confidence! They took a picture of me holding the flag. -Michael Garrison
