My first hole-in-one was in 1988, on the 11th hole at Elmhurst Golf Club in RI. My second was yesterday on the 11th hole at Brunswick Golf Club in Brunswick ME. Both were 6 irons, and both with Titleist balls. My first was with a Tour Balata 100 compression ball. The latest was with a found NT-TruSoft, which I had used a couple of times before as part of my experiments to find a Titleist ball which I can compress better than ProV1 at my age (76). I also shot my age for the first time. My pro, AJ Kavanaugh joked that I had to make a hole-in-one to achieve this goal. My club was a Titleist AP -3 6-iron on a 162 yard hole.
