I played my first round of golf 30 years ago with my best friend at his parents retirement community in Citrus Hills, Florida over winter break from college. I was hooked from the start. After 30 years of playing sometimes good and sometimes bad I finally made my first hole - in - one. It was at Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham, MA. Playing the 7th hole the evening of August 19th I hit my 7 Iron to a back left pin 167 yards away. The hole is a beautiful Par 3 that plays downhill with a small pond in front. I was happy my shot went straight and wasn't headed towards the left trap as it normally does. Once it hit the green I picked up my tee so i didn't see the ball go in the hole. Both my playing partners told me they thought it went in but I didn't believe them. As we came across the bridge I started getting excited and then we saw the ball in the cup. It was an amazing feeling.
Two years ago I made the investment in all new AP1 Irons and Titleist Woods which has made the game so much more enjoyable. This night was the first time I played with the new Tour Soft golf ball so let's just say I'll be buying a few more dozens going forward.
