  1. My story begins at the San Angelo Country Club in San Angelo, Texas. My daddy grew up as a caddie at the Country Club in the late 30's & 40's. He loved the game of golf but never had the opportunity to play much there. Well, Daddy soon found out that you could play there for free if you were employed there at the Country Club so he got a job as a baker, and then a fry cook, then eventually became the head chef there for 32 years till his retirement. I would follow his group on Mondays and just hitting balls and enjoying it.. So. this was the course I learned to play golf. Since I also got a job there as a dishwasher/waiter. So I eventually started to play more golf and got pretty decent. I recently joined the VGA (Veterans Golf Association) and San Angelo CC hosted a tournament there for us. I was thrilled!! So when the day started I felt something special, Can't really explain it. So I come up to Hole #6 par 3 half island green, I've always had trouble playing this hole, so I grab a 7 iron address the ball, I feel a gust of wind so I back off and decide there's no way. So I get my six iron, swing it, it was a good clean hit, the ball lands about 5 feet from the hole, rolls and disappears, with a 6 iron i'm assuming for sure it rolled into the backside bunker. the guys in my group said it went in, i didn't believe them. when we rolled up the green I saw the divot and just had a special feeling about it. I walked up to the hole and yes, it was in the cup! a hole-in-one in tournament play! man it was a great feeling! It had to be my Daddys spirit with me! I dedicated it to him. He passed away May 31st. Thank you Titleist Pro V1x...
