A number of our golf friends have a hole in one. My wife and I play together all the time and are chasing our first hole in one-which we know may never happen - we know the odds. But it’s still fun. On each Par 3 we come to I would say “We need a One.” She usually reply’s “Do it.” Then we would repeat when it’s her turn to hit. We have each been close but this last Friday all that changed. Mission Hills Country Club, #17 on the Pete Dye Course. It was playing 147 yards with a pretty strong wind blowing in our face and a little left to right. I told Sheila “ I need a little luck on this one” because I was unsure of the wind. I play the Titleist true soft and hit a half six iron exactly where I wanted to and knew it should be close. We did not see it go in because of the sun. Sheila also hit a great shot. The hole is surrounded by water (go figure Pete Dye.) and when we got to the green there was only one Titleist on the green. I thought Sheila’s had rolled off into the water. But when I looked it was her Titelist on the green. I thought no way my Titleist rolled off. I looked in the cup and Holly *@&* my Titleist was in the cup. We are 1/2 way there - Sheila your next!
