In July, I shared the story of my first hole-in-one. I never thought I'd be sharing my story of the second within a year, let a lone 2 1/2 months later! On Oct. 1, while playing with two friends at our home course of Highland Golf and Country Club in Indianapolis I once again had an historic golfing moment. Hole #8, playing 148 yards that day, was the site of #2. Like my first in July, I swung my AP2 9-iron, but this time struck a Titleist AVX. I knew it was a very good shot, but since the green is slightly elevated and the sun was glaring in our eyes, none of us saw it go in the hole. From the tee, I looked through my range finder and didn't see it on the green. I remarked to Dave Barry: "It's either in the hole or over the green. Likely over the green." We drove up to the green and didn't see a ball off the back. Dave and I approached the hole, looked in, and saw my AVX with 3 blue dots staring up at us from the bottom of the cup!! Wow! Second hole-in-one less that 3 months after the first!
