  1. It was Halloween and I was golfing with my three besties and our little four pound retired service poodle, BooBoo. We were playing at Oso Beach Golf Club in Corpus Christi, Texas, where we live. What a blessing it has been to have been able to play golf during the pandemic! We play from the senior men's, or "white" tee box, and on this day the hole we all call the "Hell-Hole", hole number 13, was playing 125 yards. You have to carry the water though, almost to the green, and then still land the shot softly enough not to roll off the back. It's awful. I chose a club that I bought on the Internet during Covid, which made my friends laugh, and used my favorite ball, my Titleist TruFeel. I know some amateur golfers like to use "water balls" so they don't lose the "good" ones, but I feel like that would just be self-fulfilling prophecy, and I always use my good balls the whole round! I hit the best shot of my life with my cally XR 5, which I love because it has enough loft but without sacrificing too much distance. I hit it high and when it landed we all heard a huge smack, but didn't see it, so we assumed it hit the flagstick and bounced off somewhere. I said, "I don't care if that ball went into the bunker, it's still the best shot I have ever hit." When we got up there, we didn't see it anywhere, until one of my friends spied it - right in the cup, where it had apparently landed - and stuck! I finished the round with that ball, to my friends' horror, but now it is on my dresser. :) I am super excited to have gotten this hole in one on the Hell-Hole, on Halloween, with my tribe. Was a great day!
