I have been an avid golfers for years. Especially the last few years where i have averaged about 120 rounds per year. I had come very close several times to getting a hole-in-one but close doesn't count. I have two (2) double eagles on par 5s and while far more rare, doesn't seem to have the same cache as an Ace. Not only had I never had one, I had never seen one.
I had almost given up hope. Then, hole 8 at Echelon Golf Club in Alpharetta, GA, a hole that i have played over 400 times, it happened. Playing at 158 yards, I told my friends to watch me hit a high fade into the right hole position. As it left my club, a friend said, "oh my, you did it. A high fade just like....that might go it....it's in!" Just like that, a weight lifted off of my shoulders. It was a sense of relief to finally get one. I expect the flood gates to open.
