  1. In a disappointing 2020, my wife and I decided to get away for a few days. Unfortunately, the weather in Scottsdale didn't cooperate and the highs were only in the mid-50s all week. Great for golf but not so great for lounging next to the pool. My wife went gallery shopping in Old Scottsdale and I decided to play a round at the Phoenician. I was paired with a total set of strangers and it was a beautiful cool day for a round of golf. Having never played the course, I was playing rather conservatively. We stepped up to the elevated tell box on #11 - a Par 3 playing 156 from the Phoenician tees. The pin was up front so it was probably playing more like 130 yards. One of my playing partners had honors and he stuck his tee shot about 4 feet from the pin. It was a beautiful golf shot. Up next, I took my 9 iron (brand new T300s) dropped my ProV1x on the tee box and took aim. I took a nice smooth and swing and struck the ball beautifully. We all knew from the ball flight that it was going to be a great shot. The ball practically landed on my playing partners ball, but rather than sticking - I got about three or four feet of roll that took the ball right to the cup and in. Because #11 is elevated, we had an amazing view. The ball went in. There were high fives all around and I was thrilled there were others there to witness and to snap a photo or two. The first thing I did was call my wife and I really wished she could have been there. We hiked Camelback the next day and had a great view of #11 on the Phoenician course.
