I am sure that my story is similar to others have a hole-in-one, but for me it is very special. I have been playing golf for 50 years and today I finally had my first hole-in-one. It was at my home course of Monarch Dunes in Nipomo, CA. I was playing the Old Course with my usual morning group. The shot occurred on the long, downhill par 3 #2 180 yards. The pin was up front on the left side of the green. I was the last to hit in the group. One of the guys shot the pin at 166 yards. I selected my AP1 8-iron. Well, I struck the ball and it was so pure. Someone said that it had a chance to go in. It landed 3 feet in front of the pin, one bounced, and rolled in (I could not see the cup as it was shaded by the trees). One of my friends said it went in. I said that he was kidding me. We walked to the green, I could not find my ball, that was until I looked in the hole. To my amazement there it was my first hole in one. Amazing stuff! After all of these years and being asked so many times how many hole-in-ones that I have now I can finally say I have one! Wow!
