Ok Team I have a huge question, last year I tore my bicep tendon and rotator cuff, the rotator cuff was surgically repaired but the bicep tendon was beyond repair. Has anyone else been down this road to give some advice on what impacts this will have. I had a solid game going in but haven’t swung for a year, any suggestions, recommendations and advice will be greatly appreciated.

If you haven’t already had a consult with an orthopedic sports medicine group, you might seek their opinion. With 3 major league sports in Cleveland there must be a group that caters to their professional athletes. At least for football, torn biceps and pectorals are not uncommon.
Not knowing if there is a surgical potential for the biceps tendon, there may be trainers at the OSU golf team that can do a TPI evaluation and recommend a training program. Certain swing faults can lead to rotator cuff degradation.
I had a partial Achilles tendon tear 40 years ago. Since it was partial, surgery was not recommended and it eventually healed itself. I don’t know if this relevant to your case. Sports medicine has made amazing strides since the first Tommy John elbow case. Experts may have additional options for you.

I have had 1 Achilles surgically repaired and the other rehabbed back to health. I am curious if you waited a while to get the bicep tendon checked out. I remember the surgeon telling me that you can't wait to repair tendons that are completely severed as they will shrink rapidly and make it difficult to repair. But I agree with Don that there has been so much advancement in medicine. I met a guy who tore is Achilles in the 70s and was put in a full leg cast (toe to hip) for months in his recovery. I was in a hard cast for 9 weeks then a walking boot for 3 weeks. Now it seems that people are walking much faster. Heck, Aaron Rodgers was joining Jets practices just months after tearing his.
