Help with Fade

  1. I'm a mid/high handicap, 14-16 index depending on the season. I generally hit everything in my bag straightish. My driver used to go straight, though now always fades. I've got a sore left elbow that started about 4 months ago. I had to adjust my grip more open to put less stress on it. That really created this fade. It's ok, I can compensate by lining up the left side, and it will usually end up center or right side of fairway. Drive distance after roll out is usually 230-250. I'm going to a fitter in a week, and I'm sure they can, or will say they can, adjust something that will help. But I feel like it's a swing fundamental issue.

Any good sources I should look at online? I'm going to schedule something with my PGA pro here locally to see what he says.

You need to understand the ball flight laws to hit a fade.

The weak left hand is why you're fading it. Try diclofenac gel on the elbow. It's a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. I use it for an arthritic big toe and a bad disk in the back. Really helps. Voltaren is a brand name. Over the counter at Walgreens.
  5. I got a cortisone shot jn the elbow this week. So far so good. Going to wait 8-10 days to try it out.
