I started working with an instructor in August and we are revamping my swing step by step. Currently working on shortening my back swing and without a doubt, it is the hardest thing I have ever tried to do when it comes to golf. Every time I think I have it, I look at myself on video and realize I might have shortened it a fraction of what it should be.

Had same issue Cris. Very hard to do but your score will thank you :-)

Working with an instructor that plays with me a couple times a week. Trying to slow my swing down to a blur. Tempo is my biggest issue and shoulder alignment. But we are getting there.

Downswing Tempo with my driver is the issue I battle, I start my downswing but accelerate my body really fast shortly there after causing pulls if my arms follow the body or leaving club face open when they can't keep up at impact.

I have been with AN instructor for a bit now and hardest bit for me is hands as I’m trying to have them more turned over on addressing the ball

Shortening the swing and flattening the club in transition for me. They are hard but will make it happen. Better golf to come

Yeah, I have a tough time with that as well. I've worked on it on and off for a long time and I seem to always find my way back to too long of a swing I don't need. A great old drill to find the perfect top of the swing you can find on YT, is the Faldo pre-set drill:

Working on this n ow and it really makes me realize how off the top of my swing must be if this is what it is supposed to feel like!

For me, any swing change is difficult. I worked with our club pro earlier this year. I've started to hit the wall and have been struggling with a horrific case of the "violent lefts". My lost ball count has gone through the roof. It's all started to unravel. I'll keep fighting, it will turn.

Hang in there, those great swings are all in there! Just have to find them!!
I tell this to myself many times....

I got into some bad habits while trying to play through some hip problems. For the last 2 months, I’ve been working on widening the arc and shortening my backswing. Frustrating it is. Found myself often reverting to my old habits particularly when trying to score.

It has taken a lot of reps. But I’m now starting to feel the difference and playing the best in 5 years. Now need to find a way to keep it going over winter.

By the way, that Faldo video is great. Thanks, B.A.

Totally understand. Took lessons years ago and this was 1 of the things I had to change. Be patient, you will get it. Now sometimes I find myself not taking a big enough backswing.
  12. I'm even jealous of how others play better than me. My swing mostly comes in short. Maybe more practice can make this better.
