Any idea on if the loft is staying the same on the new AP1's? I want to get them and going to wait for the 712's.
thanks

I just got some AP1 710 irons. Considering how lofts have gotten stronger and stronger over the years, every iron being 3-4 degrees stronger than it was as recently as 2005, I can't imagine lofts getting stronger at all.Hitting my AP1 irons, opposed to my old 690.CB irons is like the difference between firecrackers and atom bombs.
How would we stay at 14 clubs if manufacturers kept creating gaps between lofts in ways that required more and more wedges in our bags?
Worse yet, if manufacturers made the gap between lofts within the set more than the typical 3 degrees it is now, we might find it too difficult to fill in distances because one iron would be so much longer than the next iron if hit with the same swing. Not enough of us are talented enough to hit less than full shots and clubs need to keep our distance gaps reasonable.
I don't see lofts getting any stronger.
