Watney/Scott 3 iron/21* hybrid combo...

    Hi,

    I note both Nick Watney and Adam Scott carry both 3 iron (21-22* loft) and 21* hybrids. 

    Is that sufficient distance difference? I'd think those clubs were 10 yards or less different...

    Or does the longer graphite shaft on the hybrid really make enough difference?

    Great question.  I'd like to hear the answer to that.  I'm assuming it is based on the course set-up.  Maybe the 3 irons are for a different shot shape than the shots they use the hybrid for?
