Can anyone tell me the benefit of having a combo set compared to just one set.  Do the cb and mb feel differently or do they feel the same?

  2. Ben, I have the Titleist Z blend forged irons, which is a combo set with MB's 8-pw, partial cavity in the 6 &7, and full cavity in the 3-5. The benefit is that with the short irons (your scoring clubs), you get the best feel and the ultimate in consistency, and with the long irons where you need a little forgivness, you get the benefit of the full cavity. I am a 6 handicap and just love this setup and these irons. I dont think I will ever have another set of irons until these are completely worn out. The other benefit is that hitting MB's even in the short irons will make you a better player because you will be able to hear and feel the toe, heel, high, and low hits after you get used to them, and you can use this to improve. If you hit the ball pretty well then this kind of setup could help you. Rob
