  1. I am a 10 hcp wishing to improve my fairways hit. I average less than 40 % per round at a cost of approx 2 to 5 extra strokes a round due to errant shots (most pull hooks with some blocks due to overcompensation). I have be fitted for several shafts and drivers (95 swing speed, smooth tempo, little loading) with limited sucess over the last 5 years. I purchased a used 905S with a Graffaloy Blue 65 Stiff shaft (standard length). I hit this driver far better than anything tested in the last 5 years. The size, weight, and feel are better than anything tested. I loose a little distance (approx 7-10 yds) compared to other driver, but trade off is worth it. I average around 50% fairways hit and know it shaves a couple of strokes off due to confidence and accuracy. Question: What NEW Titleist Driver mimics the specs of this driver so I can have a starting place for a fitting should I deciede to update? Also, how can I purchase a Titleist Driver headcover for the 905S either the originial design or a new one??

  2. I just picked up a 905s and am looking for a place to purchase a head cover. Let me know if you find out. My other option was to buy a 907d2 head cover but I'm not sure it'll fit correctly.

Your best bet for the headcover would probably be to check eBay. You may even be able to get lucky and find a new one.

As for the driver specs, I think the closest thing in the current line up would be the D3 since the head size is smaller. As for the shaft I'd go to a fitter and get them to help you find the right one. With so many options right now, you should be able to find a combo in the D3 that will perform as well as or better than the 905.

In my humble opinion, the 905 was the best damn driver ever made any nobody has made a driver since that would sway my decision. I stuck with mine until it lost its pop, and you should do the same. my $0.02
