I have a friend who I have been singing my praises about my AP2's w/project X 5.0 that I play. He's currently  plays a senior graphite shaft in his irons. I think I have convince him to try the AP1's, but he says to 5.0 shafts are too heavy for him. Is there a light steel shaft that Titleist recommends that would be around the same weight, or maybe a little heavier than a senior graphite shaft?

We will soon be offering a NS pro 850 in Regular and Stiff and it weighs 87gr.  in the Reg and 91gr. in a stiff.

Thanks Cathi, he wants to try them out soon. What is the lightest currently in the Titleist fitting carts? Is there a date for the offerings? Thanks again.

I love the NS Pro 100s in my 775s, how will this new shaft compare?  I was planning to put the NS Pro 100 in my 712 AP1s!

The lightest shaft in most fitting carts will be the NS pro 105T which is very similar to the NS pro 100.  The 100 in stiff weighed about 112 grams with a 2.4 torque and the 105's weigh 113 with a 2.2 torque.

If you go to one of our Tour facilities, FittingWorks Van or Regional facilities, they will probably have the NS pro 970 steel shaft which weighs about 103 grams in a stiff.

The NS pro 850's will be available with the new 712 line which will not be launching until later this year.

Thanks Cathi.  Will the torque in the 850 be in the same range 2.2 - 2.4?  Does the lighter shaft create more spin?  I didn't notice much difference between the NS Pro 100 and the 105T but the 850 will be quite a bit lighter.  Any insight or do i need to wait for the announcement?

Hi Stuart,  The torque is 2.1 (S) and 2.3 (R) respectively and generally there is not a significant spin difference.
